To help place citizens of developing nations at the forefront of social change, supporting them in their work to alleviate poverty, empower people, and pursue self-driven and sustainable development in their communities.
Development experts increasingly recognize that, to truly create sustainable impact, they must encourage local ownership of projects. However a disconnect remains between many funders’ rhetoric and funding behavior, explained in part by both their perceptions of local organizations’ low capacity levels, and a “barrier of foreignness” that they believe comes with working with them.
Through trust-based, long-term, and comprehensive partnerships with local organizations, we seek to fulfill their needs, make their work more effective, and help them solicit funding.
